Metro Opens Limited-Time 50th Anniversary Pop-Up Shop With Exclusive Merchandise

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Metro has opened a limited-time pop-up shop in Washington, D.C., featuring exclusive merchandise honoring five decades of the region’s transit system.

The Metro 50th Pop-Up Shop is open daily through Friday, July 10, including holidays, and offers a variety of anniversary-themed items and collectibles. Shoppers will find exclusive 50th anniversary apparel, tees featuring original Metro concept art, commemorative quarter-zips celebrating the system’s anniversary and the opening of each Metrorail line, vintage-style crop tops and baby tees, hats, postcards, and other Metro-inspired merchandise.

The shop also features rare finds, authentic Metro bus stop signs, and other memorabilia celebrating what Metro calls “America’s Metro System.” Visitors can also purchase postcards in the shop, write a message to friends or family, and have Metro stamp and mail them at no additional cost.

The pop-up shop is located at 300 7th Street SW, Washington, D.C., just outside the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station. Riders can access the shop by taking the Green, Yellow, Orange, Blue, or Silver lines to L’Enfant Plaza and using Exit B before crossing D Street SW.

The shop is open weekdays from 8am to 6pm, with extended hours until 7pm on Wednesdays and Thursday, June 26, and weekends from 10am to 5pm. The limited-time shop will remain open through Friday, July 10.
