The Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily crime summary highlighting reported incidents from Tuesday, June 30.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac and surrounding areas, officers responded to a commercial burglary at a vacant building in the 1600 block of Research Boulevard. The incident was reported at 5:37pm after someone broke into the building, set off alarms and left before officers arrived. Nothing was reported stolen.
In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase and surrounding areas, officers reported two burglary-related incidents. At a vacant school in the 3200 block of Woodbine Street, two rear windows were broken, but nothing was reported missing. Police also reported the theft of a motorcycle from a parking garage in the 11500 block of Old Georgetown Road sometime between Sunday and Tuesday.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Olney and surrounding areas, police are investigating a series of thefts from vehicles in the Olney area. Between Saturday and Monday, several vehicles had driver-side windows broken and steering-wheel airbags stolen. Reported locations include the 17700 block of Chipping Court and the 3000 block of Bel Pre Road.
In the 5th District, which covers Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, a vehicle parked at the intersection of Fair Garden Lane and Ginger Tree Way was stolen at approximately 11:23pm.
In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and surrounding areas, officers reported two vehicle thefts. One occurred overnight between Monday evening and Tuesday morning from a parking lot in the 18300 block of Streamside Drive. The second was reported at 2:28am Wednesday after a vehicle was stolen from the unit block of Apache Court.
