Tokoa Cheesesteaks is preparing to launch its first food truck, expanding its operations beyond its existing restaurant locations and bringing its menu to events and neighborhoods throughout the DMV.
The business, which first opened in College Park and later expanded to Commas Food Hall in Silver Spring, said the food truck is expected to begin operating in the coming weeks. Tokoa has built a growing customer base and a social media following of more than 12,500 Instagram users.
Founded by restaurant professionals Evelyn Cruz and Delmy Hernandez, Tokoa offers a menu featuring cheesesteaks, tacos, quesadillas and mac and cheese bites. Its cheesesteak offerings include a traditional Philly-style sandwich with shaved ribeye, onions and Cooper cheese, along with other regional-inspired variations. The company said the new food truck will allow it to participate in more community events and serve customers across the region.
