A Silver Spring man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of burglaries at a Montgomery County facility in downtown Silver Spring, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Police said 58-year-old Ademu Cummings is accused of entering the Montgomery County Garage facilities office in the 1200 block of Spring Street multiple times during overnight hours between May 23 and May 26, 2026. Detectives identified Cummings through surveillance video and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with burglary and related offenses.
On June 9, officers located Cummings in the area of the 800 block of Roeder Road. Police said he jumped from a rooftop when officers attempted to arrest him. He was later located in the 8700 block of Colesville Road and taken into custody without further incident. After receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the fall, Cummings was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was served with the arrest warrant.
