Celebrate Damascus returns on Friday and Saturday, July 10-11, 2026, with two days of family-friendly events, including a parade, fireworks, flea market, classic car show and activities throughout town.
The festivities kick off Friday, July 10, with the annual community parade beginning at 7 p.m. along Route 27, traveling from Damascus High School to the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department Activities Grounds. This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom.” A fireworks display will follow the parade, with a rain date of Saturday, July 11. The Damascus Volunteer Fire Department will also offer food for sale, and its popular fried chicken dinners will be served inside the air-conditioned activities hall from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, July 11, the Damascus Lions Club Flea Market will take place beginning at 9 a.m. at Damascus United Methodist Church, located at 9700 New Church Street. Nearby, Carquest Auto Parts of Damascus will host its annual Cruise-In Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 9930 Main Street, featuring free admission, raffles benefiting Hire Heroes USA, giveaways and food available for purchase.
Additional Saturday activities include an open house at the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring fire safety demonstrations, equipment displays, blood pressure checks and station tours. Damascus United Methodist Church will also host pony rides, moon bounces, children’s games, food trucks and a half-price sale at the Harwood Thrift Shop. Free transportation around town will once again be provided by Montgomery County Fair trams.
