Potomac Farmers Market To Celebrate Grand Opening This Weekend (July 11 & 12)

Stoney Glen Market is celebrating its grand opening this weekend, welcoming the community to two days of farm-fresh produce, artisan foods, handcrafted beverages, flowers, and locally made goods at the Potomac Oak Shopping Center.

Located at 12944 Travilah Rd. in Potomac, the open-air market will hold its grand opening on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, from 8am to 2pm, rain or shine. The market is located at the corner of Glen Road and Travilah Road and operates every Saturday and Sunday from April through mid-December.

Organizers describe Stoney Glen Market as a place where “the earth’s beauty brings community together,” bringing together the season’s best from local farms, artisan bakers, flower growers, and small-batch makers. From heirloom tomatoes and fresh produce to handcrafted breads and specialty drinks, the market aims to create a weekend tradition centered around local agriculture, craftsmanship, and community.

The grand opening weekend will feature several local vendors, including Mia Cane, a modern café known for handcrafted Vietnamese coffee, fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, premium matcha, and other specialty beverages made fresh to order.

Also participating is Kate’s Cottage Bakes, a small-batch bakery offering handmade breads, cookies, scones, muffins, challah, and other baked goods prepared fresh using carefully crafted recipes.

Coffee lovers will also find Carbon Coffee, a specialty coffee company that began as a home pop-up before expanding into a mobile coffee cart. In addition to serving handcrafted coffee drinks, the business incorporates its founders’ passion for both coffee and automotive culture into its branding and customer experience.

The market first entered its soft opening phase earlier this year with a focus on organic, chemical-free, and locally sourced products. Much of its produce and eggs come directly from Massum Eyrie Farm in St. Mary’s County, which is owned by the Montgomery County family behind Stoney Glen Market.

In addition to produce, shoppers can also find items such as fresh eggs, local honey, bread, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, flowers, and other seasonal offerings from local producers. Organizers say they plan to continue expanding the vendor lineup as the market grows throughout the season.
