Oak Barrel & Vine at Muddy Branch Square in Gaithersburg will celebrate its grand reopening this weekend with three days of tastings and special events following the completion of its extensive renovation.
Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) announced that the celebration will take place Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12 at the store, located at 866 Muddy Branch Road. The boutique-style liquor store reopened last month after a four-month, approximately $850,000 renovation transformed the former county liquor store into one of Montgomery County’s modernized Oak Barrel & Vine locations.
Throughout the weekend, customers can enjoy complimentary tastings featuring a variety of wines, spirits and tequilas. Friday’s schedule includes tastings from Kim Crawford Wines, Gray Wolf Spirits, Duckhorn Wines and Milagro Tequila from 4pm to 7pm.
Saturday features the busiest lineup, beginning with Svedka Water, Trippy Goat Distillery and a Maker’s Mark wax-dipping station from noon to 3pm. Additional tastings from Tito’s Vodka, Song Dog Farm Distillery, Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, New Amsterdam Vanilla Vodka, Camarena Tequila and Hampton Water Wine will take place throughout the afternoon. The weekend concludes Sunday with tastings from Sean Minor Wines and Textbook Wines from 1pm to 4pm.
The renovated Oak Barrel & Vine concept is part of Montgomery County’s effort to modernize its retail liquor stores with a more upscale shopping experience. The stores feature curated selections of beer, wine and spirits, an increased emphasis on locally produced products, dedicated tasting areas and a redesigned layout intended to create a more refined retail environment.
The Muddy Branch location is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from noon to 5pm.
