Michelin-Recommended Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings Expands In Maryland

Michelin-recommended Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings has expanded its Maryland footprint with the opening of its second location in the state, this time at National Harbor (in neighboring Prince George’s County).

The Shanghainese restaurant, known for its authentic soup dumplings, announced that its newest location is now open at 180 American Way and will serve its full menu daily from 11am to 10pm.

Founded in Flushing, New York, in 2006, Nan Xiang has earned Michelin recognition for nine consecutive years and has built a reputation around its handcrafted xiao long bao, or soup dumplings. The National Harbor opening follows the restaurant’s October 2025 debut at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, which marked the brand’s first Maryland location.

Nan Xiang’s menu features its signature soup dumplings in a variety of flavors, including pork, crab meat, chicken, truffle, scallop, abalone and vegetable. Guests can also order the popular “Lucky Six” basket, which includes one of each signature flavor.

Beyond its soup dumplings, the restaurant offers an extensive selection of Shanghainese favorites, including dim sum, handmade dumplings, noodle soups, stir-fried noodles, fried rice, rice cakes and chef’s specialties such as Shanghai-style sweet and sour spare ribs, black pepper beef, creamy shrimp and crispy flounder fillet. An all-day breakfast menu featuring scallion pancakes, crispy dough sticks, soybean milk and traditional pastries is also available.

The company welcomed customers in an Instagram post, saying, “We’re so excited to be part of the neighborhood. Our doors are open, and we’re serving our full menu every day – from our handcrafted soup dumplings to Shanghainese comfort food that’s been bringing people together since 2006.” The National Harbor restaurant is now open daily at 180 American Way, National Harbor, MD 20745, from 11am to 10pm.
