Montgomery County Native Katie Feeney Named To TIME100 Creators List

Montgomery County native Katie Feeney has been named to the TIME100 Creators 2026 list, recognizing her as one of the world’s most influential digital creators.

The Olney native and Sherwood High School graduate has continued her rapid rise in sports media since joining ESPN last year as a Sports & Lifestyle Content Creator.

According to TIME, Feeney has helped redefine sports storytelling by blending behind-the-scenes access with lifestyle, fashion, and culture. Since joining ESPN, she has covered major events including the FIFA World Cup and Wimbledon, appeared on the SportsCenter Snapchat channel, and contributed to programs including Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, and College GameDay.

TIME also highlighted Feeney’s trailblazing role with the Washington Commanders, who hired her in 2022 while she was still attending Penn State University as the team’s first-ever social media correspondent. The publication noted that her all-access content gave fans a fresh perspective on the organization and helped pave the way for a new style of sports coverage.

Reflecting on the ever-changing nature of digital media, Feeney told The Hollywood Reporter, “Part of being a creator is you have to constantly reinvent yourself. And what used to work might not work now.”

Feeney’s roots remain firmly planted in Montgomery County. A Sherwood High School graduate, she served as student government treasurer while competing in track and field and on the school’s dance team before graduating from Penn State and launching a career that has now earned national recognition.
