Triveni Supermarket is expanding into Montgomery County, signing a lease for the former Big Lots space at 20926 Frederick Rd. in Germantown’s Milestone Shopping Center. An opening timeframe has not yet been announced, but Maryland Newsletters reports that Triveni hopes to open by the end of the year.
The Indian/South Asian supermarket chain offers a wide selection of groceries, spices, halal meat, fresh produce, household goods, pooja samagri, kitchen utensils, and an in-house bakery. Customers can also expect a food court serving ready-to-eat homemade Indian dishes, sweets, and baked goods, with takeout and delivery options available.
According to the company, its bakeries prepare fresh Indian favorites daily, including biscuits, puffs, pastries, wraps, and cakes for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
The Germantown location will mark another milestone in the company’s growing U.S. expansion. Triveni previously opened megastores in North Carolina, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia, and nearby in Ellicott City, Maryland.
