Six Maryland Restaurants Named To Eater DC’s Summer 2026 Best Restaurants List

Eater DC has released its Summer 2026 edition of its “38 Best Restaurants Around DC” list, and Maryland once again has six restaurants recognized, with five of them located in Montgomery County.

The seasonal update continues to highlight many of the region’s most acclaimed dining destinations, with the Maryland selections remaining unchanged from the previous edition. The list showcases a mix of longtime favorites and newer restaurants spanning a variety of cuisines.

In Silver Spring, J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse continues to earn recognition for its chef-driven menu centered around seafood, steaks, and Chesapeake-inspired cuisine. Opened in 2022 by restaurateur Jerry Hollinger, the restaurant is also known for its popular Sunday brunch buffet featuring items such as slow-roasted ribeye, hot honey fried chicken, crab-stuffed deviled eggs, and brioche French toast. Bethesda is home to two restaurants on the list. Aventino, which opened in early 2024, has quickly become a favorite for its Roman-inspired Italian cuisine from chef Mike Friedman.
