The story of Montgomery County Police Sgt. Patrick Kepp is featured on an episode of Body Cam, the flagship true crime docuseries on Investigation Discovery (ID).
The episode focuses on the October 2023 incident on I-270 that left Sgt. Kepp critically injured after he was struck while attempting to deploy stop sticks during a police pursuit.
Using police body-worn camera footage, dash camera video, and interviews, the episode retraces the events leading up to the crash. According to the program, the suspect was driving more than 100 mph and had a history of intentionally provoking law enforcement into high-speed pursuits. The episode documents the moment Sgt. Kepp attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle before the driver veered into him.
Sgt. Kepp lost both of his legs in the line of duty but survived thanks to the actions of fellow officers and first responders who immediately rendered lifesaving aid at the scene.
