The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center in Derwood will waive all adoption fees on Saturday, Aug. 1, as part of NBCUniversal’s annual “Clear the Shelters” campaign.’
The shelter, located at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road, will open at 11 a.m., with adoptions available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Last year’s event helped more than 100 pets find new homes. Residents interested in adopting are encouraged to browse available animals and review the adoption process before visiting. Those adopting a dog should bring a leash and collar, while cat and small animal adopters should bring a carrier. Animals will not be placed on hold to help as many pets as possible find permanent homes.4
