McAlister’s Deli is officially open, with hundreds of people turning out for today’s grand opening celebration, according to the Town of Mount Airy. The new restaurant is located at 301 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mount Airy.
Founded in Oxford, Mississippi, in 1989, McAlister’s Deli is a casual counter-service restaurant known for its deli-style sandwiches, oversized baked potatoes, fresh salads, soups, and its signature sweet tea.
Popular menu items include the chain’s Giant Spuds, which are baked potatoes loaded with toppings such as bacon, cheese, chili, or barbecue beef, as well as a variety of hot sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and its popular “Choose Two” option that allows guests to pair items like half sandwiches, soups, salads, or baked potatoes.
While the Mount Airy location expands the chain’s presence in Maryland, there are still no McAlister’s Deli locations announced for Montgomery County. Other nearby restaurants can be found in Ashburn, Fairfax, West Springfield, and Alexandria, Virginia.
