A Gaithersburg woman is celebrating a $77,777 lottery win after purchasing a scratch-off ticket.
The winning $10 ticket was purchased at Brighton Beer & Wine, located at 225 Muddy Branch Road. After scratching the ticket inside the store, the woman revealed a “7” symbol over the game’s $77,777 top prize and scanned the ticket to confirm the win before quietly leaving.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the woman is an avid scratch-off player and has only shared the news with her son, who accompanied her to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim the prize on July 29. She plans to use her winnings to make improvements to her home.
Brighton Beer & Wine will receive a $777 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
