Jon Lovitz is bringing his stand-up comedy tour to Montgomery County later this month, with a performance scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Bethesda Theatre. The former Saturday Night Live cast member will take the stage at 7pm, with dinner and doors opening at 5pm.
Lovitz rose to prominence during his five-season run on Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1990, earning two Emmy nominations and becoming known for memorable characters including Tommy Flanagan, “The Pathological Liar,” and Master Thespian. He later voiced Jay Sherman in the cult-favorite animated series The Critic and has appeared in numerous films, including Big, A League of Their Own, The Wedding Singer, Small Time Crooks, and Rat Race. His career has also included Broadway performances, guest appearances on popular sitcoms such as Friends and Seinfeld, and an extensive career as a touring stand-up comedian.
