Gaithersburg Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Arrest

A routine traffic stop by Gaithersburg Police recently led to the arrest of a 42-year-old man after officers discovered a loaded handgun inside his vehicle.

According to police, patrol officers stopped the driver for a traffic violation and located a loaded Taurus G2C handgun during the investigation. Officers determined the driver was legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.

The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was formally charged. Police said he is being held without bond.

The driver faces charges including illegal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, along with additional firearm-related offenses. The name of the suspect, date, and exact location of the incident was not released.
