Fair Foodie Awards Return This Friday

Taste MoCo will once again spearhead the  Foodie Awards at the 2026 Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, highlighting some of the best food and drinks available throughout the fairgrounds.

This year’s competition will take place Friday, August 14 at 6pm across from the grandstand. Fair vendors will compete across a variety of categories, giving attendees a preview of some of the items they may want to seek out during their visit to the fair.

Taste MoCo has continued to expand its involvement with the annual competition in recent years. Our very own “Mr. MoCo” Alex Tsironis has previously served as both a judge and host of the event and will return to host the 2026 competition. Taste MoCo will also capture photos and videos from the event, showcasing the participating vendors, their creations, and the people behind some of the fair’s most popular food and drink offerings.

Taste MoCo was launched during the pandemic as a way to support local restaurants by showcasing their offerings and providing additional exposure during a particularly challenging time for the industry. The platform has since grown while maintaining its focus on food and drink throughout Montgomery County and the surrounding area.

Taste MoCo features authentic photos and videos of dishes and drinks as they actually appear when served. Unless otherwise noted, featured items are purchased by a member of the Taste MoCo team.

The platform continues to follow a simple philosophy, “We show you the dish…and the rest is up to you.” Rather than rating dishes or telling followers what they should or shouldn’t like, Taste MoCo allows viewers to make their own decisions, recognizing that everyone’s tastes are different.

The 2026 MD Foodie Awards begin at 6pm Friday, August 14, across from the grandstand at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair.
