The Maryland Department of Transportation plans to begin resurfacing a portion of Piney Branch Road on Monday, August 17, according to an updated community advisory by Takoma Park Police.
The work will take place along Piney Branch Road between Eastern Avenue and Sligo Avenue and is expected to continue through Friday, August 28. Crews are scheduled to work from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. During work hours, a single lane will be closed at a time, with flaggers directing traffic through the construction area.
The contractor will post no-parking signs in impacted parking lanes as needed. Parking will be permitted overnight outside of the posted work hours. Drivers traveling through the area should expect minor delays and are encouraged to use caution while crews are working.
