Jersey Mike’s and Aspen Dental have signed on as tenants for the new retail strip currently under construction at 715 Progress Way in Gaithersburg, between the freestanding Chick-fil-A and Sheetz near Montgomery Village Avenue and MD-355, according to klnb.
The two businesses are the first tenants to be identified for the 10,175 SF development, which Matan Companies broke ground on earlier this year. According to updated leasing materials, two additional spaces are currently listed as “at lease,” meaning more tenant announcements could be coming soon. One space in the retail strip remains available for lease.
Jersey Mike’s will add another Montgomery County location for the sandwich chain, while Aspen Dental will bring a new dental office to the development. Construction on the one-acre property was announced in April. The site benefits from existing traffic generated by Chick-fil-A and Sheetz, as well as a sizable workforce immediately behind the development.
Two 198,000 SF Class A office and industrial buildings developed by Matan Companies sit directly behind the new retail strip and are fully leased. Tenants include AstraZeneca and Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution. When announcing the project in April, James Matan, Director of Leasing for Matan Companies, said the combination of existing traffic and accessibility made the property an attractive location for retailers.
The development is located along the I-270 corridor between the Montgomery Village Avenue and Watkins Mill Road interchanges. Matan Companies has also been marketing additional pad sites in the surrounding development for future retail or commercial uses.
