Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a kitchen fire Wednesday morning at the Scarborough Square Apartments in Rockville.
The fire was reported around 6:30am in a third-floor unit at 400 College Parkway. MCFRS crews brought the fire under control and extinguished it.
MCFRS emergency medical personnel are evaluating several residents. Additional information on injuries was not immediately available.
Rockville City Police are assisting at the scene and have advised residents and motorists to avoid the 400 block of College Parkway due to the significant emergency response and number of fire, rescue and police vehicles in the area. Drivers should use alternate routes and allow emergency personnel room to work.
