Poolesville Day will return Saturday, September 19, bringing a full day of family activities, entertainment and community traditions to Whalen Commons.
The free festival will take place rain or shine from 10am to 4pm at 19701 Fisher Avenue. The family-oriented event has been held for more than 25 years and typically attracts more than 12,000 visitors to Poolesville’s historic downtown area.
The day will begin with a charity 5K run at 8am, followed by the Poolesville Day Parade from 10am to 11am. Activities will include mechanical rides, a moon bounce, train and pony rides, Falcon Lane activities for children ages 8 and older, arts and crafts vendors and additional exhibitors. Food and beverages will also be available from participating vendors.
The festival will feature local musical performances, live Agricultural Reserve demonstrations, an electric vehicle show and the return of the Classic Car Show.
John Speelman, owner of Poolesville Hardware since 1987, has been selected as the 2026 Poolesville Day Grand Marshal. Organizers highlighted Speelman’s longtime service to customers, support of local Scouts and efforts to bring the Classic Car Show back to Poolesville Day.
Poolesville Day is organized annually by the Poolesville Day Committee with support from local volunteers.
