Shake Shack Aims to Open Newest Restaurant By the End of Summer

Construction appears to be nearing completion at the upcoming Shake Shack in Downtown Bethesda, and an employee at the location shared that the restaurant will likely open by the end of summer (summer ends on September 22 this year).

The restaurant is coming to 7535 Old Georgetown Road, inside the former SunTrust bank space on the ground floor of the Element 28 development. A Google listing previously indicated an anticipated June 24 opening, but that date passed without the restaurant debuting.

Shake Shack previously secured a nearly $1 million interior build-out permit for the location and appeared before Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services for a liquor license hearing in June.

Once open, the Downtown Bethesda restaurant will become Shake Shack’s fourth Montgomery County location, joining existing locations in the Kentlands, Westfield Montgomery, and Cabin John Village. An exact opening date has not yet been announced.
