The Maryland Department of Transportation plans to resurface Piney Branch Road between Eastern Avenue and Sligo Avenue in September.
According to the revised tentative schedule, milling is expected to take place September 8-12, followed by paving from September 17-21. Work will generally occur between 7am and 5pm. One lane will be closed at a time during construction, with flaggers directing vehicles through the work zone. Drivers should expect minor delays and use caution in the area.
No Parking restrictions may be posted on weekdays from September 8-23 to account for weather delays and potential changes to the construction schedule. Based on the contractor’s current plans, parking may be available on weekends, during rain events when work is not taking place, on weekdays when construction has not begun by 9am and during the period between milling and paving.
The contractor currently anticipates that parking may be available September 12-13 and during portions of September 14-16, although that could change. Residents must follow all posted No Parking signs and temporary restrictions, even when construction activity is not visible. Vehicles parked in violation of posted restrictions may be ticketed or towed.
The schedule remains subject to change due to weather, construction progress and other unforeseen circumstances.
