Montgomery County Police will hold its “Operation: Etch & Catch” catalytic converter anti-theft program on Wednesday, September 9.
The program aims to deter catalytic converter thefts and help recover stolen converters. MCPD has partnered with local body shops and vehicle service centers, where technicians will serialize and paint Montgomery County residents’ catalytic converters for free.
Participants will also receive a vehicle window cling stating, “This vehicle’s catalytic converter has been etched.”
Appointments are available for September 9 and are first come, first served. Residents interested in participating can sign up using the QR code on the flyer. Details on where to take the vehicle will be provided once an appointment is confirmed.
