Montgomery County Police arrested a driver and recovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in the White Oak area on Tuesday evening.
According to police, officers with the 3rd District Community Action Team were conducting proactive patrols in the area on September 1 when they initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, police said the driver admitted to having a loaded handgun concealed. Officers determined that the driver was prohibited from possessing firearms. The handgun was seized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit for booking.
The identity of the suspect has not been released by police.
