Two students were taken into custody following separate incidents involving weapons at Col. Zadok Magruder High School in Derwood, according to Montgomery County Public Schools and Montgomery County Police.
The school was initially placed in lockdown following an altercation involving a student and a staff member. Police received a report that the student may have had a weapon. The student was located, taken into custody and found to be in possession of a BB gun, according to MCPS.
In a separate and unrelated incident, another student was found to be in possession of a knife. That student was also taken into police custody. The lockdown has since been lifted, and the school was placed in a hold status to support continuing police operations. MCPS said the school is expected to return to normal operations shortly.

The LOCKDOWN at Col. Zadok Magruder High School has been lifted, and the school is now in a HOLD to support police operations.
The LOCKDOWN was initiated following an altercation involving a student and staff member and a report that the student may have had a weapon. The student was located, taken into custody and found to be in possession of a BB gun.
