Oakland Terrace Elementary School in Silver Spring (Plyers Mill Rd. near Kensington) is adding a new attraction to its annual yard sale this year… a card show exclusively for kids.
Young collectors can sell or trade Pokémon, baseball, soccer and other cards or simply display their collections. Parents may accompany their children, but the event is designed to give kids an opportunity to become more involved in the hobby and potentially make some money of their own.
Tables for the card show cost $5, and participants may use their space however they choose. Player 1 Services, a Pokémon store in Kensington, will also be on site selling card packs and teaching attendees about the popular game. Additional local businesses may participate as well. The traditional yard sale will take place alongside the card show. Parking spaces cost $15, and sellers keep everything they earn.
The Oakland Terrace Yard Sale and Card Show will be held Sunday, September 13, from 10am-1pm. Admission is free. Anyone interested in reserving a space or seeking additional information can email Ben Shlesinger at [email protected].
