Fractured Prune Doughnuts, located at 1202 E. Patrick St. in Frederick, has announced its permanent closure after more than 18 years in business.
The owners shared the news in a message posted at the shop, explaining that they have decided to step away following the birth of their daughter. “Fractured Prune required our attention every day and our family needs a break,” the message reads.
The owners thanked customers for their support and said they hope to return with another business within the next year or two. However, they noted that they have a non-compete clause in their contract that they intend to honor.
Fractured Prune specialized in made-to-order doughnuts that customers could customize with a variety of glazes and toppings. The Frederick shop had operated at the Patrick Street location for more than 18 years.
