New Silver Spring Park to Celebrate Opening September 18

Montgomery Parks will celebrate the opening of Bottleworks Lane Park, a new one-acre park in south Silver Spring, with a ribbon-cutting event on Friday, September 18, from 5-7pm.

The celebration will take place at 1110 East-West Highway and include a brief speaking program, live music, food, and beer trucks. Located between East-West Highway and Kennett Street, the park occupies a former auto center site that Montgomery Parks acquired in 2021. The project adds outdoor recreation and gathering space within walking distance of nearby residents.

Amenities include a multipurpose court for basketball and futsal, outdoor fitness equipment, and spaces for ping pong, cornhole, and bocce. The park also features a multi-age playground with nature play elements and separate dog runs for large and small dogs.

Picnic and lawn areas provide room for gathering and relaxation, while a community plaza and terrace offer space for socializing and small events. “Bottleworks Lane Park brings much-needed park space to downtown Silver Spring where neighbors can get together and enjoy time outdoors,” said Miti Figueredo, director of Montgomery Parks.
