The Prince George’s County Animal Shelter is asking for help finding placements for dogs on its “Length of Stay – Urgent” list, warning that they are at risk of euthanasia if they do not leave the shelter by the close of business on Tuesday, September 15.
The shelter says it is currently at full capacity and is seeking adopters, fosters, and assistance from rescue partners to find placements for the dogs before the deadline. “We want to be transparent that our shelter is currently at full capacity, and we are reaching out for help from the community,” the shelter said in its announcement.
Those interested in adopting can visit the Prince George’s County Animal Shelter at 3750 Brown Station Road in Upper Marlboro. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11am-7pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm. The shelter is closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.
Visitors should arrive at least one hour before closing, including no later than 6pm on Tuesday, September 15.
