Montgomery County will host a free health and wellness fair on Saturday, September 19, offering residents access to health screenings, mental health resources, nutrition and fitness education, and other community services.
The “Fall Into Wellness Health & Wellness Fair” will take place from 1-6pm at the White Oak Community Recreation Center, located at 1700 April Ln. The event is open to residents of all ages, and free parking will be available.
Hosted by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services’ Sexual Health and Wellness Program in collaboration with Montgomery County Recreation, the fair will connect attendees with local health providers and community organizations.
Available services will include free or low-cost blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and body mass index screenings, along with HIV and sexually transmitted infection screenings. Residents can also learn about health insurance, in-home care support, youth services, sports programs, disease prevention and healthy living.
The afternoon will feature interactive wellness activities, educational demonstrations and family-friendly activities. Participating organizations will include the Health Betterment Initiative of D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Residents are encouraged to arrive early to participate in screenings and activities. Those planning to stay for the full event are encouraged to bring water and snacks.
