All northbound lanes of I-270 have now reopened following a multi-vehicle collision between Old Georgetown Rd and Montrose Rd, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) chief spokesperson Pete Piringer.
The collision involved at least two vehicles near the HOV lanes and the sky ramp merge into the main lanes. All northbound lanes were temporarily blocked while emergency crews responded.
In an update, Piringer reported no serious injuries and described the incident as involving property damage only. Maryland State Police, MCFRS and Maryland State Highway Administration personnel were on the scene.
