Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews are battling a house fire in the Sonoma Rd., near Greentree Rd., in Bethesda following multiple 911 calls.
According to MCFRS, arriving crews found fire showing from the front porch and extending into the home. Firefighters began extinguishing the fire and conducting searches.
In an update, MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer described heavy fire conditions and said the house was unoccupied. Approximately 45 MCFRS personnel were on scene, and command requested a task force for additional units and firefighters. Responding resources were staging nearby on Old Georgetown Rd.
Residents are asked to avoid the area and yield to emergency vehicles. Additional information will be provided if it becomes available.
