Metro Updates 10 Bus Routes, Including Six in Maryland

Metro introduced service updates on 10 bus routes beginning Sunday, September 13, including six routes in Maryland. According to Metro, the changes are intended to improve reliability and strengthen connections across the region.

The Maryland routes receiving updates are M42, M44, P31, P63, P72, and P73. Also included are D10 and D1X in Washington, D.C., and A58 and A76 in Virginia. Detailed information can be found here.

Highlights include direct service on Route P73 to the new South Lake Marketplace and Giant shopping center in southern Bowie. Routes D10 and D1X have resumed regular routing following a summer detour near the National Mall that accommodated Freedom 250 events.

Metro also reminded riders that fare payment is required when boarding. Regular and limited-stop bus fares are $2.25, while express routes F19, F28, F81, and F83 cost $4.80.

Customers can purchase a 7-day Unlimited Metro Bus + Regional Partners Pass, which covers unlimited regular-fare rides of up to $2.25 on Metro Bus, Arlington Transit, and Fairfax Connector.

Riders should review Metro’s September 13 bus advisory for details about the changes affecting their routes.
