Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division detectives are investigating a carjacking, assault and attempted kidnapping of a woman in Rockville and have released a facial composite of the suspect.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, in the 400 block of Croydon Avenue. According to investigators, a muscular Black man entered the victim’s vehicle, assaulted her and attempted to kidnap her. The woman escaped while the vehicle was moving and was later transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect drove away in the victim’s vehicle, which was later recovered in the 11400 block of Parkvale Road in Rockville. He was described as wearing a dark T-shirt and shorts.
