Construction has begun on the upcoming SWTHZ contrast therapy studio in the Kentlands, with the City of Gaithersburg issuing a permit valued at $800,000 for the project.
SWTHZ signed a lease earlier this year for 107 Market St W, taking over the space most recently occupied by Poke Bros. Coming soon signage went up at the location over the summer.
The Kentlands studio will mark SWTHZ’s second Maryland location, following the opening of its Pike & Rose studio in North Bethesda in March 2025.
SWTHZ offers private contrast therapy suites where clients can spend up to 60 minutes alternating between an infrared sauna and a cold plunge. Each suite also includes a Vitamin C shower and built-in entertainment options. According to the company, the experience is designed to support physical recovery and mental wellness.
An opening timeframe has not yet been announced.
