Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) First District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 19600 block of Fisher Avenue in Poolesville around 2am Sunday for a reported hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian.
An adult male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital as a Priority 1 trauma patient with life-threatening injuries. Police said he was in critical condition.
The driver of the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene, according to police. The collision occurred near the McDonald’s restaurant and Cattail Road. Some lanes were blocked during the emergency response.

The following is a summary of events regarding a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian collision involving an unknown vehicle and a 27-year-old male pedestrian.
At approximately 1:51 a.m., officers responded to the area of Fisher Avenue and Milford Mill Road for the report of a pedestrian struck.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle in the area of 19630 Fisher Avenue. The driver left the scene and has not been located. At this time, detectives believe the driver went westbound on Fisher Ave. toward Elgin Road.
The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision.
A news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.
