Montgomery County-based Berries & Bowls expanded into Prince George’s County earlier this month with the opening of its third location in College Park.
The superfood café, known for its açai bowls, smoothies, and juices, opened at 4350 Knox Rd on the ground floor of the Union on Knox apartment building, just steps from the University of Maryland campus. The grand opening drew a large crowd, with lines stretching down the block.
“We would like to thank you ALL for the love and support at our grand opening yesterday,” Berries & Bowls shared following the opening. “We are so excited for this new chapter in College Park.” Owner Brian Levine previously told The MoCoShow that College Park’s combination of students and residents made it an attractive location for the company’s expansion.
“College Park, Maryland, is a strong location for an açai bowl shop due to its large, health-conscious student population from the University of Maryland, favorable demographics, and high demand for convenient and healthy food options,” Levine said.
Berries & Bowls got its start in Montgomery County, opening its first location in the Kentlands neighborhood of Gaithersburg in September 2019. The company expanded to Bethesda Row in August 2021. The College Park opening marks Berries & Bowls’ third location overall and its first outside Montgomery County.
