Dear Matcha, a matcha concept that launched inside Rockville’s Mia Cane and has also appeared at farmers markets across the area in recent months, is opening its first brick-and-mortar location in Bethesda.
The new shop will be located at 4928 Cordell Ave., the longtime home of Alatri Brothers, which closed in July after approximately 10 years in business. Dear Matcha announced that it will officially open its doors on Saturday, October 10, with a grand opening celebration scheduled from 11am-4pm. The event will feature R&B music from DJ Xaje, the full matcha menu, exclusive drinks, giveaways and merchandise.
Dear Matcha has primarily been available at Mia Cane, which opened its first local store at 785-I Rockville Pike in the Ritchie Center in 2024. The concept has expanded its presence through pop-ups and farmers markets before making the move to a permanent storefront.
The Bethesda location will be Dear Matcha’s first standalone brick-and-mortar shop. We’ll provide additional details on the menu and opening as they become available.
