Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a basement fire on Woodridge Avenue in North Kensington on Saturday.
Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the scene, where crews rescued one person who was found unconscious in the basement. An adult woman was evaluated and treated before being transported Priority 1 with life-threatening injuries, including smoke inhalation, to a burn unit.
MCFRS said the home had functional smoke alarms. The fire was extinguished, and the origin and cause remain under investigation.
