Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire in the 1900 block of South Fallsmead Way in Rockville around 2 pm Sunday, September 27.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the two-story home and a fire in a second-floor bedroom. About 50 firefighters responded and extinguished the fire. The home was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
MCFRS said the fire started in the bedroom near a small refrigerator and was accidental, likely caused by an electrical malfunction. Damage is estimated at $150,000, and three adults were displaced.
