Sweethaus Treats, the family-friendly dessert shop at The Village at Worman’s Mill in Frederick, has announced that it is closing.
The shop opened in the fall of 2023 at 1020 Mill Pond Rd, Suite K, offering specialty milkshakes, bubble waffle sundaes, ice cream sandwiches and other desserts. Sweethaus also became known for rotating specialty offerings, including Dubai chocolate strawberries.
Sweethaus announced the closure in a farewell message, explaining that the decision was made so the owners could devote more time to their family. “Running a small business while raising a family is no easy task and after much consideration we have decided that this is the season to step back and spend more time with our family,” the business shared. The owner noted that she is a mother of four and that balancing motherhood with the demands of operating Sweethaus had become increasingly challenging.
Sweethaus was created as a place for families to gather for everything from birthdays and first dates to after-school treats and other celebrations. “While closing our doors is bittersweet, we are leaving this chapter with so much gratitude,” the business shared, thanking its customers, employees and the Frederick community for their support.
According to its website, Sweethaus began with a passion for creating colorful desserts inspired by family recipes and playful flavors.“Thank you for making our dream so sweet,” the business wrote in its farewell announcement.
