Kaloyan Stoev has been sentenced to 120 years in prison for the 2025 shooting deaths of 26-year-old Marcell Hebron and 27-year-old Leilani Marroquin in Rockville.
Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge John Maloney imposed the sentence on Monday, September 28. A jury convicted Stoev on April 23 of two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited.
According to investigators, Stoev was seated in the back seat of a BMW during the early morning hours when he opened fire on Hebron, who was driving, and Marroquin, who was in the front passenger seat. Hebron was later found inside a disabled vehicle near Shady Grove Road and Research Boulevard, while Marroquin was found in a nearby hotel parking lot.
Stoev fled on foot following the shooting but later returned to the hotel where he had been staying, according to authorities. Detectives subsequently located and arrested him inside the hotel.
