Wing Pop, a new internationally inspired chicken wing concept coming to Rockville, continues to make progress toward its opening at the Shops at Congressional Village.
The restaurant is under construction at 1701 Rockville Pike, in the former Gyroland space next to Okaeri and Meow Claw. Recent photos show much of the interior taking shape, including seating, kitchen and counter areas, digital displays and Wing Pop signage. Exterior signage has also been installed. An exact opening date is not yet available, but Wing Pop is currently expected to open by the end of the year.
As we previously reported in July, Wing Pop is a new concept from the Ivea Group that will feature internationally inspired chicken wings with flavors influenced by Korean, Japanese and classic American styles. The menu is also expected to include stir-fried ramen, and the restaurant will feature a full bar.
We’re told the concept is designed to fall somewhere between a fried chicken restaurant, ramen bar and lively nightlife venue, creating an energetic and social atmosphere for guests. We’ll provide another update when an opening date is announced.
