Purple Line construction will result in overnight closures at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street in Silver Spring beginning Thursday, October 5.
The intersection is scheduled to close nightly from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. through approximately Thursday, October 15. The work will also result in temporary detours for Ride On Routes 15, 16, 17, 20 and 28 during the overnight closures.
Several bus stops along Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street will be temporarily bypassed, with riders directed to nearby stops along Georgia Avenue, Cedar Street, Thayer Avenue and at the Silver Spring Transit Center, depending on the route.
The closures and detours are related to ongoing Purple Line construction. Riders using the affected routes during the overnight hours should allow additional travel time and check Ride On service information for specific stop changes.
