Montgomery County Department of Police is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a Jeep Wrangler and a 62-year-old woman in Aspen Hill on Wednesday, September 30.
At approximately 7:21pm, officers responded to the area of Arctic Avenue and Bel Pre Road for a report of a pedestrian struck. They located the woman suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to police, the driver of the Jeep failed to remain at the scene. A witness provided responding officers with a description of the vehicle and its license plate.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. Police said additional information, including the woman’s identity, will be released after her next of kin has been notified.
