The Kentlands Bar Crawl raised $2,016 for For 3 Sisters during its fall event on Saturday, October 3, with approximately 175 people participating.
All proceeds from the event went directly to For 3 Sisters, a nonprofit that supports Montgomery County residents affected by breast cancer through financial assistance, education and early detection efforts.
“It was an amazing turnout for our community to support this great cause,” organizer Kristin Johnston said. “We are looking forward to supporting another nonprofit in the spring!”Johnston said the Kentlands Bar Crawl has now raised approximately $9,200 for charitable organizations over the past four years.
The October 3 crawl took participants to six Kentlands establishments throughout the evening: Sin and Grin, The Grilled Oyster Co., Coal Fire, Bonefish Grill, Grape Escape and Quincy’s Golf and Social.
The community tradition began more than 20 years ago and added a charitable component in 2023. Johnston, Sue Kravitz, Debbie Freedman, Sumbal Sheldon and Joleen Johnson help organize the event.
Earlier this year, the spring bar crawl drew more than 200 participants and raised more than $2,000 for the Montgomery County Humane Society. Organizers plan to continue the charitable tradition with another Kentlands Bar Crawl in the spring benefiting a different nonprofit.
