Solidcore has signed on to open its third Montgomery County location in Gaithersburg, according to leasing materials from Kimco.
The fitness studio will be located at 618 Center Point Way in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, where leasing documents show Solidcore taking over one of two spaces currently occupied by the United States Postal Service in the same strip as My Gym and OrangeTheory. A USPS representative told The MoCoShow on Wednesday afternoon that they were unaware of any potential closure or changes to the location.
Solidcore has operated two Montgomery County locations for more than a decade, with both opening in Bethesda in early 2016 as the brand expanded into Maryland. The Wildwood location opened at Wildwood Shopping Center in January 2016, becoming Solidcore’s first Maryland studio. A second Bethesda location followed in March 2016 at 7101 Wisconsin Ave.
Solidcore offers a high-intensity, low-impact, full-body strength workout featuring Pilates-inspired movements performed on a resistance-based machine. Classes focus on slow, controlled movements that keep muscles under continuous tension while minimizing impact on the joints.
Classes are typically held in dimly lit studios with energetic music and combine strength and core exercises during a fast-paced workout. An opening timeframe for the new location has not been announced.
