O.A.R. Members to Perform Benefit Concert for Wootton High School

Members of the rock band O.A.R. will perform a special benefit concert for Wootton High School on Monday, October 26, at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring.

The event, organized by the Wootton High School PTSA, will feature O.A.R. members Marc Roberge and Richard On, along with musician Greg Berg. Two performances are scheduled for 5pm and 6:30pm, with special guests from the Wootton Acatonics.

O.A.R. began when its founding members met while attending Wootton High School in Rockville. They first played at local venues such as the Grand Marquis in Olney and passed out CDs to classmates before attending Ohio State University, where they continued building a loyal following. The band later returned to Wootton for a football field concert in 2001 and went on to achieve major commercial success with the 2008 single “Shattered (Turn the Car Around).”

The concert will celebrate Wootton High School’s legacy, with proceeds benefiting the Wootton PTSA, Booster Club and Patrons of the Arts to support students and staff during the transition to the school’s new building. Tickets are $25 each. The Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center is located at 7995 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Tickets can be purchased at https://woottonptsa.membershiptoolkit.com/store/25724.
